Items to Bring TO TRIP:

 

1.      Proof of citizenship: For adults (older than 18), you need a passport.   AND

  • CHILDREN: U.S. citizen children under the age of 16 will be able to present the original or copy of their birth certificate, or other proof of citizenship such as a naturalization certificate or citizenship card.

    Groups of U.S. citizen children ages 16 through 18, when traveling with a school or religious group, social organization (such as CHAUCER DRIVE STUDY CENTER), or sports team, will be able to enter under adult supervision with originals or copies of their birth certificates or other proof of citizenship.

 

  • notarized letter signed by BOTH parents authorizing your underage son to travel to Mexico with Chaucer Drive Study Center stating "I acknowledge that son is traveling out of the country with Chaucer Drive Study Center. He has my permission to do so." This note needs to be notarized.

While CBP may not ask to see this documentation, if we do ask, and you do not have it, you may be detained until the circumstances of the child traveling without both parents can be fully assessed.

 

2.       Sleeping bag and clothes for high altitude frisky weather; shorts; sneakers with good traction (they will get wet) plus another pair of shoes; clothes for 5 days; thermal suit optional; towel; water proof bag for chocolates; sunblock; biking helmet; any necessary medications (if asthma, bring spray); toiletries

3.       $50 for pocket expenses (meals and fee to get into Mexico)

4.       DO NOT BRING WALKMAN OR DISKMAN OR GAMEBOY, etc. BRING CDs TO PLAY FOR EVERBODY

 

 

Cost of the Program: $350 per person (combined with the High School & Beyond Seminar)

 

Plan day by day:

•Friday, June 4, 10am – Friday, June 11, 8pm

 

•Place to stay: Sillares Center (Monterrey), tel: 011528183568172

•June 4: 10 am depart from Chaucer Drive Study Center (5505 Chaucer Drive). Arrive Monterrey for dinner and stay at Sillares Center.

•June 5: AM: Practice rappelling near Sillares. PM: Drive to camp out site near Matacanes.

•June 6: Matacanes

•June 7-11: El Molino Conference Center: High School & Beyond

•June 11: Drive back

 

What you need to do to prepare 
•Prepare the Medical Release and Waiver and have your parents sign it
•Have your parents sign and notarized letter authorizing us to “bring you into Mexico”
•Pay deposit $50
